Joined to find advice/tips on getting a necklace out of my chickens insides :(

Usually people who need a therapy animal use a dog but they are not limited to a dog. Therapy animal are used for a number of things such as panic attacks and for diabetics I'm told before they have an episode of blood sugar going bad. I've heard about the blood sugar but I have no evidence of it as I have not needed and not researched it. I know of on person that does use a dog for panic attacks. I see specially outfitted harnesses on dogs in big box stores from time to time. Usually there is a sign on the dog requesting that no one is to pet the dog.

There is enough information on this page to start the exploration of an animal for mental support. If a doc signs off on it the County has to allow it.

Sorry I accidentally submitted the responce too early. But what I was going to say is don’t I need specific proof that the chicken is a “therapy” pet. How would I be able to make that because I’m sure no doctor or vet would just randomly sign something without proof

You don’t need proof. You just tell them how much the animal has helped you and you can’t live without it, etc. etc. and they should sign off on it. But what you want is an ESA (emotional support animal) not therapy animal

It’s a little confusing but therapy animals, service animals, and emotional support animals (ESAs) are all totally separate things. Service or assistance animals are the ones you described that help blood sugar or panic attacks, guiding the blind, or whatever. They are specifically trained to perform specific tasks to mitigate a disability. And they DO NOT require any sort of certification or registration or anything. They are allowed anywhere. But are only allowed to be dogs or mini horses. ESAs are just pets with no special training and no public access rights but they are allowed on airplanes and pet free housing. They do require a letter from a doctor or psychiatrist, etc. for the housing I believe. But there’s a lot of scams online. They can be any animal I believe. Therapy animals help other people like they go to schools or nursing homes, etc. to visit with people and do require training and certification.
Am I able to get one for my chicken who really isn’t any therapy animal? Or do I need some sort of proof she’s been through training and is a service animal.

Who do I go to for this? I could give this a try. Thing is where I live we were told by Collier county we can’t have a chicken and have two weeks to do somethjng about it. If I could get someone to lowkey sign her off as an emotional support animals then woukd they let me keep her either way?

Your doctor or a therapist, psychiatrist, somebody like that. And yes, they should because you’ll have a letter and they can’t argue that.

By they I also mean cops and the court/ government… their pretty tough when it comes to people reporting a pet and the only reason our chicken was reported was because my mom reported the water leakage we had outside that was there for weeks and created mold. She has called for weeks and no one ever issued it. Our neighbor, she works for the association and she was supposed to issue someone to us and never did and she got introuble for that so she ratted us out on the chicken as her “revenge” but wait till we show proof of her being on our property near our door and path way with her dog pooping and peeing right there. We have camera evidence of it so the show is on! She wants to play this game… we will.

My sister said this “just in case ask advice on who to go to to sign it off or how to fight off the cops when they come” I already told her who you said to go to, but by concern now is the cops/ court, or Collier county If they come.
