Marneck project moving forward 1 more step .
checked the eggs last night ,day 16 .
Fertility good .
Golden boy 33 eggs went in 7 bad 26 good .
Big Blue 25 eggs went in 2 bad and 23 good .

my boys did a good job .impressed and pleased .
Sunday/Monday will see .

basket full of F1 Marneck chcks .

the cream chicks are from Golden boy .22 chicks hatched from 33 eggs .no bad for a first timmer .
Blue and Black chicks are from Big Blue .14 chicks out off 25 eggs .good job .

36 chicks in total . some with a feathered feet .not many the majority are clean feets . they are large chicks .Hibrid vigor

Golden boy chicks are mor colourfull .great to look at .no barred pullets are gorgeous some are Dukc wing/Wheaten pattern ,not a full back strips . other are buff colour .

moved more eggs into the hatcher last night .
Golden boy = 30 eggs went in 1 infertile .
Big Blue = 6 eggs went in 1 infertile .

between this 2 hatch I ll have enough chicks to start a proper strain .
I will have some NN chicks coming along too to help me finish the project .

Golden boy chicks are the pritiest ,light and colourefull pattern . lighter legs colour .I like more than Big Blue chicks just Blue and Black with a darker feet .no a big fun of them .

I like the e+ and the eWh pattern with added Dark Brown gene . keeping the baring .

2 more chicks hatch from Golden boy Day 23 . one of then is small but healthy and moving around ,the other died 3 hours after hatching .
that make Golden Boy 24 out of 33 eggs .

day 21 .Golden Boy chicks start to hatch .a lot of them .
Big Blue nothing yet .

19 chicks from Golden Boy plus 4 from Big blue hatched .last one too .
incubation #1 and #2 =
Golden Boy =43 chicks .2 of them died . only 41 left .
Big Blue = 18 chicks
healthy number of 59 to work with .

10 days old Marneck chicks .
the cream ones are Golden boy chicks ,the black ones are Big Blue chicks .al healthy and sound .

gorgeous body pattern ,can t wait to see them fully grown and coloured up .
golden boy produced 75% barred chicks and 25% buff and salmon no barred chicks pullets.
Big Blue produced Barred black chicks and Black pullets .

I did not manage to hatch any NN chicks .so I bought today 2 NN X Shamo cockerels ,big boys .to help me contenue the second part of the project .
