Judge Willaim Adams

Agreed Ms. Squish.

Agreed also..........lets put it this way she was a young woman ,no longer a child......i raised all boys , but still know with my granddaughters they reach the age of young women. No need for a man to be spanking them ......not even their father

We only seen one part of the whole issue and yes it was overboard anyone would agree with that but as always there are other contributing factors here that we as the on-lookers are not always aware of. Like... what led up to the beating?, the mother was just as bad for allowing this and she got her "token" hit also which seems very odd.

I do contend that the laws need be changed though because as a parent that runs the risk of teaching a strong willed child right from wrong should not have to be held accountable when the effective discipline means are removed. To be very clear here what this guy did to his daughter was not discipline but abusive.

I have a niece though that ended up in prison because she never respected authority as a child and could have used a few beatings like this one as it may have kept her out of jail so I am still out on this one until some new light is shed on the story.

This judge knows the laws I am sure and knows what he can get away with "legally". I really doubt he will get in any trouble for this although he probably should.

Unfortunately some people only respond to a beating in order to behave whether from the police or an abusive parent, that is the real tragedy.

Where exactly does the law hold the parents accountable for their child's actions? We live in the same area, never heard of such a thing.

If your child is a minor a parent has to go to court, pay the fines, lawyers fees, civil law suits (the worst one) and any damages as in property crimes. The accountability does not stop when the child is incarcerated.

IMO beating with a belt, either a 16 yo boy or girl is very wrong. At the age of 16 I think parents should be trying to outsmart their teenagers not fight with them. Beating is just an instant gratification for the person doing the beating, and it's quite stupid, if you ask me, for a parent to beat a child of that age. A spaking or beating doesn't do as much to teach a teenager as taking away something of value to them.

Hitting a child in anger like that is not teaching, its only releasing the abusers anger. It's selfish and terrible.

No problem, I have a good friend that is an attorney (he really is a good guy) and he has told me some dandy stories. Among other legal stuff.

Want to know a legal process that tramples ones' civil, legal rights? stalking orders. You can go tell a judge what ever one wants and they will issue a temporary stalking order against you and you have to go defend yourself and if you win you cannot collect your costs but if you lose you are on the hook for the winners costs.

A spanking if different than a beating ,which is what this guy did. I got my share of paddling in high school, my last one at age of 17 yr old. no harm done..,but your right i would rather take the swacks then miss getting out of school on time.

Also agree if done when they are doing so out of anger.........more risk of it getting to abuse. At least now days ,they don't use the whip...like in the past.

I just read that judge wont be charged in the beating because too much time has elapsed...
Gee, must be his buddy that made that decision..

X2000, it teaches the teenageer that it's OK to hit, and that's about all. There was no computer supervision (pointed out in a much earlier post) and she downloaded stuff she wasn't supposed to. Soooo....whose fault is that???
And a big YES to all who posted earlier that he seemed to be enjoying it too much ... ugh ...
