Here are my two blue silkies that hatched the last two days, have more to hatch out hopefully sunday, darn power was off for 3 1/2 hours today, hope my eggs hatch
DJennings-adorable!
I just did the float test on my 8 remaining Cochin eggs and 6 remaining Polish eggs and every one was a low floater. I should've waited to see if any rolled but I was in too much of a hurry to get them back in the incubator. They're at 23 days and each one of them was a low floater so they're staying incubated 4 or 5 days more. Does this tell me out of a total of *16* Cochin eggs shipped from North Carolina to Oklahoma....that *14* of them were fertile viable eggs?? Amazing odds if that's the case. That Ebay seller is great in my book! I don't know that the remaining 8 will hatch. But being low floaters at least tells me they developed to term, correct?

Day 22 - We finally have one pip - a tiny portion of an egg has been lifted up by the one who has been tapping off and on all day. I'll keep you posted! Praying he has brothers/sisters that pip too.
we've had 4 hatch out of 10 we started with. 2 left in bator with no pips yet. but today is just day 21. here is our latest edition named STAR! can you guess why?
Day 23 and we have our first chick! We have 6 other pips - so we're still going forward! 11 Leghorns and so far 1 hatched. But what is that stuff attached to him and the shell? Should I do anything about it or leave him alone?
