July 1st hatching ..DAY 23 for a few of us!

When you candled, is it all dark except the air cell? If so, you might want to wait another day or two. If your 'bator temp is a little low, you can get a delayed hatch. I had one egg hatch 3 days late. Also, did you include day 1 in your count? If so, then day 22 is really day 21.

splitting hairs my friend...splitting hairs. Even if im counting 1 day ahead...it will not matter...the bator will stay on for an extra few days past the 21 day mark just to be sure every egg had a full chance.."and them some" to hatch out

thats fine I'm not worried just don't expect all the babies to be here tuesday and not and be worried but many times chicks hatch early due to little higher temps

that works maybe some of ours will hatch late and some of yours early close enough for me

I have about twenty or so Blue/Black marans and some project feather legged black marans and a few copper black marans eggs due the 2nd. Next to it is a bator with BBS silkies and a mess of large fowl Dark Brahmas due two days later. I have been a VERY GOOD GIRL and not put anything in the other two bators and after these two sets hatch I am STOPPING for the summer. I PROMISE (myself that I will, lol)
