July 2015 Hatch A Long HAL

Well I set 51 eggs in the bator on july 2 and be setting more eggs july 5. Of course they are ones I bought and are a barnyard mixed. Nice colored eggs too. This doesn't include my turkey eggs that mommy didn't want to sit any more when one baby hatched so I have one that hatched this morning and waiting on 6 more baby turkeys to hatch in the next few days. On one hand I am excited but the other hand.. chicken math..

Just set 48 eggs tonight 7/3. 14 barred rocks, 17 copper maran, 17 delawares. This is our first hatch and we are using the still air Farm Innovators model 2100. Will be hand turning eggs 3 times per day. Good luck to all.

Checking again Tuesday night, someone added a couple extra stragglers in the last day...lol

Day 6 candling of my barnyard mix eggs I set on the 28th 7 developing well (includes 2 eggs set on 21st), 2 clears and 4 not so sure, Will candle again on day 10. Did not candle all 18 delaware eggs purchased from a local farmer. Will candle all eggs on day 10.

Day 9 candling, out of 42 shipped eggs, 37 are developing nicely! I'm stoked. Legbars, Ameraucanas, Marans and Olive eggers. I saw movement in several, I wonder if they might be a few days ahead of schedule.

Day 7. Egg 1 broke (I dropped it day 4) and egg 11 seems to be a clear. All the rest look ok. Crap.

Day 3 I candled wasn't planning to until day 7 anyway.. 4/6 paintxblack silkie eggs show development... 2/6 clear, 2/6 mixed silkie eggs show development, 1/6 looks like a very early quitter, 3/6 clear, 2/6 mixed bantam eggs show development , 3/6 clear, 1/6 was oozing junk so I have discarded that egg before it explodes, 4/6 black bantam eggs show development can see their little hearts beating , 2/6 clear. These are ebay eggs and wasn't expecting much from them so 50% so far I'm quite happy with.
