July 2017 Hatchalong

Hey, has anyone here hatched out eggs in an incubator and discovered 2 developing embryos in one egg before? I candled mine last night and am thinking that I seen 2 separate ones in there moving around. There doesn't seem to be an egg inside of another egg, just the one. If you have had this happen before, do both chicks make it to hatch? Should I be worried, or just throw away the egg now if they will be runts or deformed?

Cool! Keep us updated on the twins!

I opened up 3 early quitters last night. Two looked like little birds, one was even developing feathers :( wonder what causes that. I could see a heartbeat and several moving embryos in the ones 9 days along. My first batch is on day 16! Exciting times.

I will, and it has me curious now. When I seen it last night I marked the egg, so I will know what one it is without having to candle all of them again.

PS... Good luck on your hatch!

I searched this site for the 2 in 1 egg, and found the duck one that had 2 in it. One died as they were hatching, and the survivor was a runt. I decided to toss the egg, because I don't want any runts in my flock like that. I'm not raising the mini chickens.
