Hope it's not too late to join!
I've got 8 jubilee babies who are due to hatch out on Saturday. I'm not very hopeful, as they all grew out of saddlebag air cells. The cells have since stabilized but I've not had much luck with disrupted cells yet.
Actually, this all started with 31 eggs, I candled at 3 and 5 days and saw nothing so I assumed they were a lost cause.
I forgot about them (in my hovabator in the living room) until a few days when I figured it was time to toss them. My daughter insisted we candle one more time and I'm glad we did as we have 8 that did develop.
I checked them last night and saw movement in all, decided to lock them down a day early to help give them a bit more time to position around the air cells. They moved into my brinsea this morning and I put them on my kitchen table (husband is not thrilled with their current location. Lol)
Hopefully something hatches! I did end up buying 14 live babies from a man on Michigan (mottleds) so now I will have way more babies then planned. And the lady I bought the original eggs from, sent me 14 more jubilee eggs....I hope they hatch but I'm overwhelmed with the possibility of having 3x the number of chickens I had planned on. Ha ha ha
I'm hatching Pekin Bantam and Orpington eggs in my incubator currently. Next batch is due on the 21st.
Ooh I love Orpingtons! Do you have any adults? This is my first time hatching, it is so much harder than I expected! You can says sell the extras, right? That's what I keep telling myself, anyway.
