Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :
I leave mine until around day 25, just to make sure. Other people leave the until day 28.
Hoping all the rest hatch!!
OH, that stinks that on of the Tolbunts died!!
MORE Tolbunt Polish..you're kill'in me!
~ Aspen
Sweet- I'll leave them in til the 25th day then.......
I cheated & candled 2 of them-
can't see movement- but can make out feathers & feet & small veins...... was seriously wondering if there was a way to open them myself without hurting them if they happened to be alive still.
They were only out of the bator for a couple seconds each- so..........
The 6 Gold Lace/Tolbunt eggs still to hatch are only 1/2 Tolbunt (1/2 Gold Lace Polish)- not sure how they will look to be honest. The auction was cheap ($30.25 for 6- she sent 12) and with it being a differant line of Gold Lace than ours, and the Tolbunts coming from a differant breeder than the ones that have hatched- figured it was worth getting them to cross to this batch.
Between these Tolbunts, the GL/ Tolbunt crosses, and mom's GL Polish- I figure I have lines to play with for a few years
The one that died was one of the last 2 to hatch (yesterday)- they don't move around alot at first- so the fact it was laying around didn't seem strange. Last night before bed I switched them into a larger brooder because the smaller one seemed crowded & this Tolbunt seemed warm & panting. I was watching them, noticed this one kept staying under the light (everyone else stays off to the side of the direct light- or running around in the area away from the light) The light is in 1 corner of the brooder (both brooders) as the room they are in is warm (rest of the house is a/c'd), they have 90% of the brooder out of direct light in the bigger brooder. When I picked it up to put it in the bigger brooder- I noticed I could HEAR it beathing. I think it must have gotten fluid in the lungs (or not gotten all the fluid out?)
What is the latested you've had a egg hatch?
