***JULY HATCH-A-LONG come join in***

So how late do you think is too late? My broody is now FOUR days overdue... but she is determined they are gonna hatch. We are down to 3 broodies as one mysteriously dropped dead last week. Fortunately her twin sister started setting the same day and had room to adopt her nieces and nephews. But things are so gloomy right now.... should I take Archie's eggs? If so, should I give her new ones?
The only other broody we had hatched 1 out of 3 eggs, and mor than 24 hours early. What do I do?

I have 10 eggs in the incubator due Friday and I went down to check on them tonight and I could hear them peeping in the eggs, so I gave them a pep talk. Hopefully I will have more chicks tomorrow!

If you're sure she's four days overdue, I would go out and with a sharp rock or nail pip a hole in the large end of the egg. You can watch the chick inside for movement. If they're still moving, put them back. If they're not moving, take them out.

If all the eggs aren't going to hatch, I'd give her more. But that's just me...

Ok we have hatched so far.... 2 blue polish... 2 black copper marans. The cutest little serama, that I named 'wayne' sooooo cute! We had a welsummer pip, zip and then it died.... So sad. So now we're down to 2 wellies... I hope I get at least 1. Oh we've got one more BCM hatching now! Yay
