I have a type of pig called KuneKune. The Facebook KuneKune groups are constantly insisting that they don't root. Tell that to this little lady. Makes me laugh every time.

Cutie wootie piggy wiggy!! :love

I looked into pigs at one point, including KuneKunes. A friend, who decided to start with Guinea Hogs, and I took a weekend road trip to pick them up and after that I was fairly involved with hers. I like the smaller pigs and the color varieties of the KuneKune are a draw for me if I ever get pigs of my own.

Here are mine. The boy is on top in the group pics. In the single pics the boy is first. My boys are nearly identical, pale markings with small yellow dot on the head. The girls vary in the depth of color and the darkness of the chipmunk markings just a little bit, but all are very defined vs the more blended boy markings.

My Kunekune's all rooted quite eagerly. Pasture pigs my patootie!

Guineas are not for the faint of heart or the easily annoyed. So we got rid of ours. I am glad that others can keep theirs though. They deserve a life (far away from mine).
Yep! After two years of them terrorizing the chickens (sometimes to death) and driving me batty with the constant clacking, it was time for them to move on. Great for tick control, but so is a lawn mower. Or ducks. :love

Not too different from auto sexing in crested cream legbars!
