In addition to the broody guinea hatch, we have keets hatching in the incubator. We’ve gotten a ton of Royal purples in this clutch, but here is a pearl grey that just hatched! This was my attempt at getting “action shots”!
Mid-hatch shots are the hardest to get! Yours came out great. My phone seems to hate trying to get a pic through the plastic.

Pearl grey was the color of guineas I used to have. They had white on the front of their necks though...does that make them pied instead of pearl grey?

If there is enough white then they are pied. A lot of guineas have white flight feathers too, but most people don’t call them pied. This pic is of a very clearly pied pearl grey cock.

I've read that the jumbo pearl guineas are less flighty. Do you know if this is true?

A local homesteader has told me that the lavender guineas aren't as noisy. Got myself some and am going to a comparison eventually. :pop
I’ve heard all sorts of stuff about different colors behaving differently... We have had a number of colors: pearl grey, royal purple, lavender, slate, violet, white, and pied. I don’t really see behavior tied to their color. However, I do think that different genetic lines of guineas probably behave a bit differently in terms of broodiness, aggression, and flightiness.
