LOL OMG!!! Freckles gives me the murder stare and noises when I take her eggs too lol although I haven’t messed with her today yet. I need to see if there’s more chicks out there lol
Did you move her?

Mrs. Tweedy is with everyone else right now so hopefully it works out. I may try to make my quail cage this weekend. and put her in it with the eggs. I think the quail cages are going in the run anyways with the chickens just so that it keeps everything together.

Nah I didn’t but just like while she was incubating two hens consistently laid on her pile 😂🤣:th

Had to keep removing them practically daily lol

That might be a good idea!!! Freckles is in the main coop too and I was worried at first but the nest boxes are huge and dark so she’s kinda tucked into a back corner and no one really notices her hahah plus the boxes are ground level.

Do you feed Flockraiser to yours or do you do chick starter for a couple weeks first? I read they should be on starter for the first couple weeks at least then Flockraiser was okay so I was gonna go get some but idk.

I feed everyone flock raiser crumbles. The chicks eat whatever the mother hen eats so I do not even bother feeding them something different. When these quail hatch I will add the game feed right into the flock raiser and mix it in my bin so that it is half and half.

That’s good to know!! Maybe I’ll just do that then. I just didn’t want to hurt the littles haha and that sounds like a good idea!!!

Awesome!!! Thanks!! :) I just filled the big feeder yesterday so didn’t really want to go buy more or have to like empty it or whatever haha
I just find Flock Raiser the easier solution to everything. I have chicks hatching all the time and it is so hard to feed everyone something different.

Yeah exactly!!! I think I might just keep them on it permanently or maybe the Blue Seal multiflock if I can find it again cause it was less dusty and higher protein hahah but I was feeding layer, Flockraiser, and game bird feed hahah now just Flockraiser and game bird haha

That sounds like what I need to do!
Yes, it makes life so much easier. I know people will say it's not hard to do different feeds, but it is when you have chicks, chickens, quail, turkey, and ducks. Everyone eats the same thing except for the coturnix quail chicks, they eat game bird feed until they are laying age.
