July Hatch-a-Long (including 4th of July hatch-a-long)

My second set of shipped eggs came in early so I’m starting my incubator today. These eggs look really good and she sent me three extra. My incubator only holds 22 so the rest will go under my broody. Wish me luck. I so wanna hatch a chick.

So I am still waiting on the lady to ship my silkies eggs that I bought off eBay almost 2 weeks ago. Last correspondence with her she said she would ship them either last Saturday or yesterday. Still not shipped and now she is not responding back to me. I just don’t know what to do at this point. I don’t want her to get in trouble but I either want my eggs or my money back.

Well she just finally got back with me and said a few of her girls went broody so she’s been backed up on orders and should ship tomorrow! But we’ll see. I just don’t think you should sell eggs before they are laid! And she had adds all over Facebook too. Lots of people wanting her eggs but you can only send what your girls lay. I just wonder if I’m going to still get the assortment promised.

I was going to say, if she's not getting back with you something is off. If there are no more delays, that's still within what I have come to expect from eggs on ebay. If she goes radio silent or continues to delay, I'd open an ebay case at that point. One positive about sellers like this is you know your eggs haven't been sitting on her counter for a month.

Who was the seller? I know the person that I buy silkie eggs from on ebay presells and it takes a while to get the eggs. But they are super awesome to work with and were even trying to get specific colors for my daughter. Sounds like they might have caught the broody disease though as some of the pens (including their black pen which my daughter really wanted eggs from) weren't laying. I ordered my eggs back the end of April and they just got here yesterday. At one point I contacted them about status of the eggs and they had though that it would be the next week, but they also said they were having trouble with the hens laying due to the cold temps they were having at the time and it didn't happen.

He’s almost as excited as I am. He told me to order more the other day. I was going to go with the local breeder, but I had great success with Myshire so I decided to go with them again.

Looks like they are a pink tinted tan egg possibly. Reading about their temperament won me over. They sound like such fun chickens!
