Maybe my eye sight is bad 😂 everyone sees a color I see cream. I was so excited when I found it!
It’s probably the lighting! I know my eggs always look a lot different in real life than in pictures. But yes, it looks kind of green/celadon to me too LOL this is like that dress and sneaker thing all over again :lau maybe ask your husband and kids what they see LOL

We just got around an inch of rain yesterday evening... with hail. Nasty hail. I'm glad for the moisture, but it punched a bunch of holes in my greenhouse plastic, beat the 💩 out of our vehicles, broke a couple of windshields, pocked up the siding, deck, etc. I was asking for rain. Now DH says (jokingly) that this is my fault. 🤷‍♀️ We reroofed everything that's not metal last year because of a hailstorm the year before. Hopefully those are okay, being new... All things considered though, I'm still very relieved and grateful for the rain.

Oh man! Sounds a lot like our area last year. :( So sorry. It is always a punch to the gut when you get a storm like that.

Here is a pic from my front door - that is a creek bed that has been dry since my DH's grandpa lived here. I have only seen it flow once since DH and I got married, and that was a year that we got 13+ inches of rain in like 3 days. You can see how brown the pasture is compared to the trees in the creek bed and the irrigated crops in the background.

I've got a gorgeous boy like that. It's always the pretty-boys, ain't it? 🙄

They all seem to be a bit, erm, forceful with the girls early in their budding roosterhood. As long as there are enough females and as long as no one gets scalped 😠, that's not too worrisome. They do usually settle down after a while.

This one attacks me though--him and my Buckeye roo. They'll both go into the stewpot eventually although neither is especially hard on the girls. I hear Icelandics are more likely to dance & tidbit.

If you want to keep your hens/pullets backs from getting worn bare, you can buy aprons from @OneMountainAcres . She has loads of cute prints--very nice products.
Wow, what a gorgeous boy! I think they know when they're pretty. lol

What a wonderful view! Hope you guys get the rain you need... (without any damaging weather!)

The view is so much nicer when the grass is green. And absolutely stunning when there is water in the creek! As of right now - long term forecast - upper 90's to low 100's until the 9th of July with absolutely no chances of precipitation. Then they are predicting an abnormally low temp day of a high of 66 and a good chance of rain on the 9th. The wheat fields here were done 1-1 1/2 weeks ago (usually starting to pick between now and the 4th). It is so sad to see it this dry.

I can imagine it would be! I hope it turns around soon.
