My Langshans hatched yesterday and overnight, including the broody rejected bleeding cracked egg. The little guy amazes me and is going to need a cool name.

That's awesome! That is actually quite a bit you've done already!

We don't have an orchard in the standard sense either, but have used our trees to divide pastures and create shade, etc. Would love to turn a larger area into a food forest. Maybe one day. :)
The only problem with fruit trees along side, or in pastures, besides all the fruit eaten off the lower branches... is when you go out to pick the fruit and you get mobbed! I swear even with a lid for my bucket, I felt like ninja farmer trying to keep the hungry mouths from stealing my fruit!🤣
What do you have planted or are working on getting planted?

Terrible wind last night. :( Flipped the trampoline all the way over this time. It also blew over the dog kennel panels I have at the front of my chicken pen. I had them zig-zagged to sturdy them as I cannot put posts in the ground to hold them there - FIL has to be able to easily move a fence to get his model A out. I had to rush to get panels taken apart, remove the one that got bent in half, and put back up in 1 hour in the 90 degree heat in an hour as I had to run my daughter to the orthodontist (an hour and a half away) to get her braces fixed. Going to try and build a new fence with a large gate in it when I get some time.

Ran into TSC while I was in the "big city" for my daughters ortho and grabbed snake repellant. Got home, checked the chickens and saw at least 1 snake was back, and put out the whole box. Directions say "reapply after a rain." So what does it do...it rains...only like 10/100 to 20/100...not enough to save the pastures, but probably enough to make the repellant ineffective. But, I have a pretty good idea where to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow....only about 4 trees away from my back door. Lol!!
