Well it happened. I just happened to be in the area of a cute little duck hut/run and two 6 week old white campbell ducklings.

and SOMEHOW, ended up with 6 Indian runner duck eggs in the incubator. 🤷‍♀️

I have a problem. 😂😂😂

Do you have pics of that coop? It’s awesome!!!!

I can't believe it's almost hatch day! Day 18 for shipped eggs (top of photo) and day 16 for local eggs (bottom of picture). I'll be waiting on lockdown until tomorrow. Since it's a slightly staggered hatch.

I've already pre culled these in my mind. From the brown local eggs I only want lavender chicks and no Ayam Cemani mixes (which most will be). I'll see what hatches from the specked olive eggs and possibly keep 1 of those.
From the shipped eggs I'll grow out all Silverudd's. They're my reason for this hatch. Then a few female chicks from the other breeds (55 Flowery, Marans, Barnevelder).

While I was out at my broody house, I decided to take a pic of my older chicks from the July hatch. 3 blue silkies, 1 buff silkie, 1 salmon favorelle, and 2 speckled sussex.

I also took a pic of my sweet boy Elvis - he is a 1 year old Tolbunt Polish. He has the prettiest purple shimmer (more purple than green) to his black feathers!

The one in the picture is actually our chicken coop. My husband built it and it houses up to 12 chickens. He got the plans from Home Depot website! It’s really good and easy to clean, but we probably should have made the pop door slightly larger, but the front side drops down totally for cleaning.

I wanted a separate one with the ducks in the same run, so I picked up this one today (this pic is from the ad) and got the ducklings with it. I’m not putting the covered run on though. The ducks will just free range with the chickens.

Though I found one of my hens in there at bedtime. 😂😂
