July Hatch-A-Long

I have four adorable chicks!! I'm pretty sure the tiny, tiny frizzled egg is a dud, but I'll just leave it in there. Two of the chicks have tiny bloody navels sticking out, but I think that should be okay if I just let them dry out in the incubator...

I've been sick and coughing all week and I've been afraid to even breathe anywhere near them LOL. My hands are super dry from washing my hands a bajillion times. I swear I almost suffocated holding my breath when I had to put in more water in incubator. I think they think a cough is the sound a momma chicken makes now =(

You think that's bad, my bator makes a VERY loud beep when the egg turner triggers. By the time they hatch they'll all think their mum is a robot.

Well I sure hope you get better fast!
Four hatchlings for you! :yesss:
I'm still at two but they hatched early... it is only day 19! :)

I'm late to the party, but I've got 7 eggs under a broody due to hatch 7/14/14.  This is my first attempt at hatching.  Ever.

Welcome to the fun.... this was my first too but you are doing it the best way.... your chicks should be very strong and robust with a mom to teach them things.

Pics of the little chickies...

Easter Eggers- Wheaten Am over Barred Rock chicks. They are sex link from the barring and it looks like I got 3 pullets out of three. Yay!

Olive Eggers- Blue Wheaten Am over Welsummer. The Blue Wheaten Am is double recessive for beard and muffs, so these chicks will be clean faced.

Easter Eggers- Wheaten Am over Easter Egger (who lays a lovely green egg). Gotta love those fat cheeks!

Still waiting on 3 pure bred Wheaten Ams that are due to hatch on the 4th or there abouts.
