July Hatch-A-Long

I am really happy with the new brooders I just built. The chicks should fit in them for the first two to three weeks and they are easy to clean up. Best of all the cats really love the show through the plexiglass doors.
I'll have to wait until the 28th to have enough little ones around to fill both! The 41 Keets in the incubator are due to hatch around then.

Whoa, you BUILT that? Pretty swanky! My brooder's a bit...heh, low tech, shall we say. I lose seeing all these babies! My air cells are finally starting to grow but I worry it may be too little, too late. Only time will tell. They're already slanting!

Thanks! My husband is allergic to unaesthetic things around the house and if I had kept my rubbermaid brooder around anymore I might have been headed for a divorce. Now to work on getting a bigger coop...

Good luck on your hatch!

They are great look like some mid century doll house design!

I have a beautiful new chick under my hen. I am so excited, you would think I hatched it myself. I think it is just a couple hours old, because I checked her at 4. I filled a bucket of water and was headed out there to float or dump the eggs. This hen is has never gone broody or hatched before and I am a beginner as well. Holy cow!

I am so sorry if your's didn't hatch. I am having a great hatchings lately. No clue why. I am just going by instinct for the most part. I have 11 out of 20 so far hatch I think 3 will not they have not pipped yet and the bator is going ape. temps dipping to 95 and humidity jumping to 85%. Yep all the rules say they shouldn't be hatching but they are.
