i just received an order of quail egg cartons from GQF. they were totally inadequate. my quail eggs which i think are normal and not jumbo are way too large for the cartons i received. Does anyone out there can help in finding the proper size or even someone that sells jumbo egg cartons. oh and at a good cheap price many thanks

What kind did you get? Unless yours are really big, the 10 count plastic ones would work, that's what I use. Those are not stiff like other plastic cartons, so they won't crush the eggs by closing them. And they also don't self-lock, so if you need to leave a bit of room in it, that's possible.

I got mine on ebay, one set was for 25 cartons which I won for $.99. The other was for 50 cartons that was for $4 something, can't remember for sure.

most of my eggs are large, only my A&M 's will fit. They are small and produce nice average eggs. i ordered a hundred and yes these cartons i received do not close well. i had to staple the first five dozen. they do not lock like the ones i received from other BYC's. i have washed and reused the ones i got from others for some time but now i got a huge order (40 dozen )and need the right kind of cartons. my order was #0290. does that help.

There is one seller on ebay that has paper cartons, but they are kind of expensive. I have had some shipped to me in flats, they fit well in those. I believe they are pheasant or chukar egg flats, and they hold 25 eggs.

I got my plastic ones from Fleming Ouutdoors...They don't lock and seem somewhat adequate...I have had some that don't fit. I agree that the "quail" paper flats just don't work. Never thought about the pheasant trays...aren't they a bit too big? Just curious how you dealt with the oversize issue. I have shipped a bunch of eggs in the plastic ones and usually things turn out well. By far the best I have seen for shipping are some foam cutout deals...they really protect an egg well...never seen where to by them I have only recieved them twice and can't 'member from who!

Aha! Yes, they are the chukar/pheasant egg flats. The reason that I can't find them is because they are 50 egg flats, not 25. The people I have gotten these from have apparently cut them in half. But the coturnix eggs fit in them perfectly!!

Even found a link for some

I'll be getting these when I run out of my plastic cartons

ok i got a pm about "egg carton" Sodesa brand with tabs and cost 25 for 14.95. does anyone else know anything about this item. thanks

thanks for the lead for chukar flats. unfortunately i ordered from Red Oak(hatching eggs) last year and never got my order and had to go through the pay pal procedure to get my money back. i will never do business with them again. But again thanks.

Well that stinks.....There were other places that had them, but those were the cheapest I found. I didn't look all that hard though, I need to be getting to bed
