I've been wanting to join a hatch group, my last (& 1st) hatch was set 2 weeks before I found this awesome site so it was a little too late. Only thing is my eggs are due to hatch June 16th, not the 1st

Maybe you guys will have some late, well very late, bloomers lol! I'm setting just about everything, in seperate incubators of course. 12 Melanistic pheasants. 12 Guineas (all colors). 3+ Royal Palm/Bourbon Red turkeys. 15+ Harlequin, Blue Swedish, Cayuga, Buff, Magpie, Khaki Cambell ducks. Chickens: 9 Polish, 48+ Golden Lakenvelder, Cuckoo Marans, Silkie, Barnevelder, Buckeye, Dominique, Jersey Giant, Easter Eggers, Barred Rock, Houdan, Buttercup, Welsummer, Serama, Cochin, Frizzle, BluLcdRedWyndot, French Wheaten Muran, Blue Splash Andalusion, Buff Orpington, Black Sex Link...whew!

I think I have 3 buffys and 4 legbars developing.

See what you think:

This is an unfertilized egg from my legbar cross

I was expecting to see a roadmap of veins and arteries. Is that just because my candler isn't strong enough?
Have put all the eggs back under, and will have another look in a few days to see if I think I agree with myself

You know me .... I'm a hatchin' fool !

My Sportsman is full and I have eggs coming tomorrow. I am gonna have to put them in the HovaBators until it is time for lockdown on the first lot. Then I can switch them out. I use the HovaBators as hatchers. I am not keeping many from these hatches. Most of these will be sold (if I can bear to part with them

) ...

Here is my hatch from yesterday .... I have 3 broodies, all due this week. I took 6 chicks (3 from broody #1 and 3 from #2) and put them all with #1. Then, I put all the unhatched eggs with broody #2 to finish out. #3 hasn't started yet (maybe tomorrow) ... The chicks are all Delawares. This broody is a Black Cochin first time mama.

It's been a while Kathy, good to have you back. Gosh i can't WAIT untill i get a girl to go broody on me. That will be so cool. I just picked up an old Sears Farm Master incubator from an antique store last week kathy.....holds 600 egg's! HA.... beat THAT! lol i forgot how many your sportsman holds. I think my bator was made in the early 60's, but im not 100% on that. Here is a pic or two for ya....

Great pics fuffy! I'm not so sure they are fertile tho...then again maybe you just have a week candle light. Tip: To look for the easiest veins to see always candle from the large end where the air cell should be. The light illuminates the air pocket and them starts to penetrate the solid mass....but the first few centimeters are almost as lit up as the air cell should be...and right their is the bet place to spot veins

Added! lol what crazy egg chain are you speaking of friend?
