June 7 & 10 hatch date - Update

Please share, everyone, if these successful hatches are from shipped eggs or not? I'm getting nervous reading about everyone's misfortune with shipped eggs!

The egg that pipped yesterday still hasn't made alot of progress. BUT... I now have one that is completely hatched. He must have been a strong bugger because he pipped, zipped, and hatched within just a few minutes. I have two more pips. I'm worried about the first one drying out if he doesn't get a move on. He now has a hole about the size of my thumb and he's still moving around in there and cheeping quite a bit, he's just not in too big of a hurry to come out of that egg shell I guess.

LOL... I got to watch my first hatching... WAY cool! He's a black one. Hope the others make it out today too.

The eggs I hatched are from right here on my farm all eggs were collected within 48 hours and set up in the incubator. Maybe that is one of the reasons my hatch seemed to go so well with the LG? I am curious what the next batch will be like in the Brinsea eco. The chicks are mutts from a combo of my chickens they look really cool though I can't wait to see how they turn out when they grow up

Oh wow... I got a surprise. I didn't even notice, but my kids did and pointed it out. I have 3 pipped eggs in the batch that aren't due until the 10th. 2 days early! Will they be ok if they hatch early?

Not anymore progress on the first batch. The one that pipped yesterday is still just sitting in his egg. He is moving around in there and cheeping from time to time. He doesn't appear to be very weak at this point. But it's been 24 hours since he pipped. When looking into the hole you can see his beak and one of his feet. He'll use that foot to scratch his beak. He doesn't appear as if he's even trying to break the shell any further. Should I be concerned? He appears to be fine, but the skin around the opening appears to be dry.

Most of mine pipped and hatched early. I wasn't supposed to have any hatching until sunday and a bunch hatched friday and saturday. I think part of my issue is I have a couple of broody hens in the barn and they might have sat on the eggs prior to them going into the bator. All of my early hatches look really strong and healthy so far so no ill effects I can see.

Ok I'm getting worried about the one that pipped yesterday. It's been nearly 30 hours since he pipped through. Early this morning he knocked off another smell section of shell making the hole just about thumb size. He hasn't made any further progress. It's been more than 12 hours since any progress on that hatch. The skin around the opening is dry. Should I be concerned? The chick inside appears to be fine. He's moving around. You can watch him scratch his beak with his foot. Should I not worry and just let him take his time? I'm just worried about him drying out and sticking to the shell and not being able to hatch at all.
