June 7 & 10 hatch date - Update

We have a few porcelain d'uccle eggs in a hovabator that were due to hatch last Weds and haven't done anything yet... are they definitely duds, or is it possible the cold spell they got for a couple of days last week just set them back a few days? This was our second batch after our first group of silkie eggs didn't do anything either...

Also, I'm still searching through threads so I apologize for asking this question for what I'm sure is the zillionth time, but what's the humidity supposed to be? What's the min and max recommended? What should it be for the last 3 days before hatching? According to my reptile hygrometer, it's been about 20% in our 'bator, so maybe that's our problem...

We have attempt #3 in there right now, too (more silkies), and the temp seems to be holding constant - any other suggestions?

Thanks!

It's day 21! So far nothing. But it was late late on a Sunday night when I put them in so I really didn't expect to see anything until late Sunday or even into Monday morning. Hows it going Hooser?

20% humidity for chicken eggs? I think that may be your problem. I am fairly certain it's supposed to be quite a bit more than that for the last 3 days. Can someone with more experience chime in here?

Morning Hatchmates!!!
Well as of right now I have 26 chicks. I lost a hatched chick I think the others stomped it in the bator. I resisted moving chicks last night and I think I should have. I moved the fluffy ones this am. They are eating and drinking right now. I have about 4-5 eggs left in the bator along with the chicks that weren't dry yet. I don't think they are going to hatch some of them are pipped but to me it doesn't look promising. I removed the egg that I thought was dead and it was. Fully developed chick inside that was really large and the funny thing was that it looked moist enough so I don't know what was going on with that. Last night before I went to bed I raised the humidity in the room the bator is in to around 70% because I figured if I opened the bator I wouldn't lose that much humidity. Don't know if it is true or not but it makes sense to me

I've got 4 babies as of this morning. And there are more pipping and peeping and rocking and rolling. And I have to leave for work.

I want to stay home with my peeps. But my sweet husband will be here to take care of them. So I will just have to wait till tonight to see the new ones. I will post pictures as soon as I can. Good hatching vibes to everyone.

I know that I have two babies! I am not home, we took a family vacation to the beach so I left my mom on Bator watch! They are set to hatch tomorrow (Mon) but the bantam eggs are already hatching. I assume the standard eggs will follow tomorrow.

I cannot wait to get home and take pics for you and me both!!
