June 7 & 10 hatch date - Update

I have cheeping coming from my little Showgirl/silkie eggs. Hard to say how many.

I hope they do well, I was so discouraged by my little Serama eggs dying in the shell (all but two) that I would like these to do better.

Just curious--what is everyone using to incubate? What I used this round is an LG which was terrible to keep a steady temp in although the humidity seemed ok. I have my second batch set in an Brinsea Eco which the temp is rock steady in. I candled them a few days ago and they looked good. I will have a look tonight and refill the water if needed. I am now at about 30 hatched chicks I have two eggs that have not hatched yet. One was peeping but don't know now

It seems to me as if you are doing very well in the LG!

I am hatching these in the LG, but my next little batch is in the 1588 Genesis.

I think there are nine little EE Bantie eggs to hatch on Monday or Tuesday.

I am waiting right now to move another batch over to the brooder. I think I am at about 30 right now with two eggs unhatched. I'll take a look at them when I move the others.
At this rate I am going to have to build a second coop in the barn or take some of them to the local animal swap. They are so darn cute though!! I can't wait to see what they are going to look like when they get bigger. I hope everyone posts pictures of their hatches
Got to go but the big girls away...

I have pip! Well, only one egg has pipped... but for my first time, I'm pretty excited about just the one. I noticed the hole a couple of hours ago and nothing has changed since then. I know the chick is still alive though because I can watch the hole and see a tiny little beak move in and out of the hole. No cheeping or anything. No rocking, no rolling. Just one lonely ole pipped egg. Honestly, I didn't expect to see even that much until much later tonight or tomorrow morning sometime. So I'm pleased.

For this hatch I'm using the hovabator without egg turner. Even my thermometer/hygrometer batteries died on me a couple days ago so I don't even know where the temp and humidity is sitting at.

The hatch that's due in 3 days are in an LG... without turner. I've been turning manually all along. LOL... makes me feel like I'm more "connected" to my eggs. *Shrugs* Weird concept I guess.

Keep those fingers crossed... there will be no sleep for me tonight I'm sure. Everyone chant with me... hatch chickies hatch chickies

patty-congrats on the pip

that is so cool. Wait until you get a zip!!
I'm at 30 fuzz butts I have one egg left in the bator but I think it's a dud
Candled the ones due on father's day last night and I think I've got one that is no good and the rest have little chicks in them. It's so much easier now that I know what to look for!!
