June 7th Charlotte, MI

I went....

I saw......

WOW, looks like it was a big turnout!

I couldn't believe the Ford pickup truck that's box was entirely filled with baby chicks.....

There was a lot of animals there.

I resisted the urge to bring some home.

Would have said hello to any BYC'ers had I known you.

Sometime we need to have a meet-n-greet area at these shindigs.

Ahh, Steve, you came home with nothing?? I'm not making it out there, this time. Too much to do at home.... No more chickens for me right now.

smpezzi....I'm in Davison. Not too far from you.

What a big turnout! We came home with one mille fleur hen that is scared out of her wits, poor thing. Any tips on getting her to cozy up to humans better? We were very tempted with the playpen full of silkie chicks, but we HAVE to have females only and there's just no way we could tell whos who. That truckbed full of day olds was something to see!

Looked like a good turnout, and we were HOME by 9 am!

Brought home: (3) Light Brahma pullets (2 mos), an Americana hen (9 mos), a Polish hen (abt 1.5 yrs) and a ... Showgirl!! She's so ugly she's adorable. Pics soon!

Didn't see anyone I expected to ... had to hurry back home to a sick horse. Sorry if I missed anyone, I'm not so good with names OR faces.

And I found a trio of pigeons that I want.... hopefully he still has them when it comes time for me to buy some!

that swap was awesome!

i founad a lot of breeders of many things and got their numbers so i could call them when i am ready to get some.

funny story: i was walking around and i saw a bob white quail running around so i tried for like 10 minutes with my hands to catch it then i found a person who had a net so i used her net and i got him in 2 minutes. ( after he was trying to fly away but he flew into a mini van window and fell right down just stunned him he is fine now) so as i was carrying him around and looking at other stuff i found a man with pheasents so i said i will give you this quail for a baby pheasent and he said ok!

then i found out that my friend was going to buy all the pheasents from him and she ended getting the quail back. lol

Then i was talking to the guy that the quail came from and (had a big blue trailer lot of quail) then another one got loose he told me "you catch him you can have him" "i am not chasing him in this weather it is to hot". so i asked him was it a male or female he said a female then i asked what the one that got out earler was and he said male. so i got the net and i cought her so now i have my first ever pair of bob white Quail.

We had a GREAT time, the boys were facinated by everything! We ended up with about 13 buff orps from the guy with them in the bed of the truck lol he just kept giving the boys more and more it was funny and we got a RIR which has already been named Harley, a Jersey Giant, and a Black Sexlink all in all I would say we did well! All seem to be quite content and happy and the boys adore them all and I am in love with them all too

Duckmani saw you! i thought to myself, he will never cath that thing with out a net.
I came home with my pair of white calls i have been looking so hard for. It was fun except for the drive, but it was worth it.
