June hatch-a-long!

Pics
So I've been noticing that the eggs in the center are starting to get stuck on the edge of the turner more often. I figure it must be because of all the changing going on inside them. But I couldn't help myself and tried to find the one that I saw yesterday was the most developed. Found it and took a picture!

This one, I feel, must be a bit older than the rest. While I saw a few with a tiny clump in the center of the faint, webbing veins, this one is so obvious. And even more obvious today! Ignore the humidity and whatnot, it's not easy to grab and egg out and put the lid back on so I have to do it with the lid totally off.

Ok, so i have 6 Sebastopol geese in the bator! We are on day 25.... Just can't wait! I am having so much fun incubating......ADDICT! I want to incubate more eggs. Question for you all.... What do you all do with these batches of hatching eggs.... I cant see adding 20 more chickens to my flock and it seems like ya'all set so many new eggs. Do you sell them or what??

This is my first time hatching, but I figure I'll raise them some then sell what I need to in order to keep me at the allowable limit if I get a lot. The person I bought the eggs from sells them by the dozen then adds 4 more eggs to be safe and she threw in 4 more for me. Had no choice but to set them all.

I have 6 turkey eggs due June 2nd and 9 chicken eggs due June 9th....the turkey are a mix between a chocolate and standard bronze, and the chickens are a barnyard mix with a rir roo and some possible necked neck, and of corse a few from the German beilfelder... pen. So should be fun!

I think addicted is an accurate statement...when you are scheming about where to trade different breeds for new ones you want, or have several trades lined out before you even have the birds, just so you can hatch a few eggs and not lose your...... um anyway yes I may be addicted. But I will have my pick of many turkeys this year and a healthy number of chickens.. lol

I have a mess. 7 broody hens and 1 broody duck with a mixture of standard duck, call duck and chicken eggs. Didn’t note dates (“oh I’ll remember”) on any and any pencil marks I made are worn off mostly. Hens keep switching nests and leaving nests to sit on the wrong eggs...if anything hatches (whenever that might be) it will be a miracle.

I started using the hatch a batch app over a year ago and boy am I glad! It helps me keep up with my staggered hatches and I can look back at my notes right on my phone if I want details on a hatch. These last few I just started writing the estimated hatch date on the egg.... but I use an incubator so they stay a little cleaner.

Shipped eggs arrived today! 1 set was a day late-arriving, and multiple detached air cells. The second set arrived right on time and I only candle they couple and didn't see any detached are cells, but they all are being incubated fat end up. Both sellers were generous. I ordered a total of 20 eggs and ended up with 27 in my incubator. I have a little incubator and I ended up double stacking a couple. I figure I would lose some of them due to being shipped eggs. I didn't want to toss a good egg without giving it a chance. I'll get room in the incubator in a few days once I can see which ones are developing. These eggs are shipped from coast 2 coast!

So I decided to candle the eggs again today to check air sacs so I had something to show me progression.

That little eggs last night I thought was much further than the others may not be as far as I thought. I found quite a few with very visible eyes. The one last night I couldn't make out an eye.

Two seemed to have no air sacs. The shells were a bit darker so it was hard to tell. One of them I believe actually has an embryo in it so if there isn't an air sac I don't see how it will survive :(

I took picturea, maybe y'all can see something.
