June Hatch A Long

Popped another dozen Muscovy eggs in the incubator. My niece found them in the hay barn so no idea how long they have been storing them lol. We'll see how they do. I know they can hatch under feathered moms as we have now got 8 hatched out 4 more pipped and about 18 more between two ducks and one chicken momma (they decided to set things up that way not us) Mom dad and all the other ducks in the barn are super protective of the babies so it's hard to get pictures of them. Once the moms settle down and start bringing them outside we'll try and get a family photo. Just ordered 2 more dozen Crele eggs for next year through Carolina Chicks depending on the person who did the review they are getting 50% or better hatch rates out of their eggs so we'll see what we get. If I get a dozen to choose from I'll be super happy. This is what the parents look like so I figured it would be a good addition to the gene pool.

Yup they have a wide assortment of chicks and hatching eggs the biggest issue is shipping is expensive so close to 30 dollars for shipping for eggs and close to 50 for chicks but they do well with both and the reviews on the chicks are amazing so my thought is that it's worth it as an investment.

Their reviews on FB are almost all 5's

Getting bigger the Crele kids at 1 and a half weeks old will be 2 weeks on Friday. Interesting to see how they feather out there is a lot of variation in that bunch.

Hi brain trust, I need help!
I was part of this June hatch a long and incubated 10 australorp eggs. I was left with 6 babies after a few week (2 died a few weeks after hatch) however I’m having a serious problem now. The little fluffs have made it to 2 and a bit months however I had one pass last week and it looks like another is heading down that path. Lethargic, loosing colour in the comb but still has a fullish crop in the evening, it feels squishy, like rice pudding in a balloon... I took my other chook that passed to the vet and he said that it seemed like an inflamed crop and gave me some prophylactic antibiotics to put in the water to give to the others (5 on, 5 off and 5 on again) but it now looks like I may loose another one. Don’t really know what else to do, and I can’t/don’t want to loose any more of my flock. He tested for Coccidiosis but negative. Any advice would be a blessing. Thanks.
