you can check and see if there is still movement and open up the air cell like I did so you can get coconut oil on the membrane so it isn't as dry

I’ve got two that have had large holes since 10am 7 1/2 hours now... the membrane looks a little dried up. Do you think I should assist some? Or leave them?

Leave them, they haven't started unzipping yet and the membrane is still white. Once it starts to look a bit brown then you now it's going to need a final assist but the chick will likely be able to zip all the way around from the looks of that one.

Yes he does and our little backwards chick I was able to find his beak and get it out. Hoping it will be enough it took a bit before he or she took a breath after I got it out. Hopefully it was soon enough.

X doesn't have many vessels left so he or she may push out soon. The others are a little behind. Lots of vessels still and lots of chewing. I am excited to see the blue chick taking more even breaths I hope I was in time.

Awesome!! Yes, the delay is perfectly normal! Those are the first real inhales the chick is taking into its lungs and it will begin the long process of strengthening its lungs and pulling everything in now!

The chicks is VERY big it's beak looks huge compared to the others. I wonder if it was just too big to turn around. There was a little bleeding but not very much so hopefully it will be okay.

Yes they are all still breathing and chirping. I think chick 12 was chirping a little too much encouragement and that’s why number 13 decided to come out too soon. It was Laid May 13 one of the last few eggs to go be taken for hatching. I culled the chick.

Thank you all for your support the last attempt to escape its yolk and shell that ruptured the yolk also pulled out some intestine and started some bleeding. I know it won’t always be perfect, but I still find culling babies hard. I don’t have the experience to try and fix I sides on the outside of a chick, and couldn’t let it suffer.
