June Hatch A Long

I'm in the English Orpington group but they are more for breeders of show type birds. You could easily pay over 100 for 12 eggs there or 3 chicks. It would be nice to find a group that is for people who love the breed but can't afford to spend a million dollars on babies or eggs for them.

I know. The Delaware breeder I found is minimum 25 chicks... 10 bucks a piece. I’m hoping I can keep tabs and nab some hatching eggs sometime.

Here are the 7 fuzzies they are not sure they like me cause I keep washing their bottoms when they see me. I tried the coconut oil on their bums but they still got icky. With temps over 90 without a heat light they are getting too hot and getting super goopy poos which stick to their bottoms other than that they are happy and healthy and very friendly.

This is the Orp breeder I found for Creles I will be ordering either eggs from them or chicks this upcoming spring if the ones I have aren't good for breeding. But liking what I'm seeing on these kids so far lots of variety can't wait to see what their adult feathers look like.

Beautiful little peeps! :love I love them! I'm not going to do my big Orpington hatch until it cools off a bit since my last batch went so poorly but one day I'll have creles too!

I'm not sure if I want to do eggs or just order chicks next year from Carolina Rare Chicks but it's about the same cost for both around $150 lol. Hopefully they are really really good babies.

My friend had good experiences with Sugar Bend Farm Orpingtons so that's where I'm going to be getting mine. I've been talking to him about getting 4 dozen a variety of colors and it's within a mini road trip driving distance for me here in Georgia.

Yeah that's a bit far for me in Vermont. I wish there were breeders up here but not many and most people have stock from hatcheries not birds that are heritage type.
