Got the incubator filled up today for a June 3rd hatch! Trying to add some colored layers to our flock. Hatching olive eggers, blue laced red wyandotte, crested cream legbars, salmon favorelles, golden cuckoo marans, black copper marans, white sapphires, and lavender orpingtons. Excited to hatch along with y’all!

So many pretty colors!

Now that I've got my turner working, I feel like I'm living that infomercial where the tagline is 'set it and forget it!'. 😂 I just check the humidity once or twice a day and ignore it otherwise. I think day 4 just began, but I'd have to check my calendar!

I mean, at least hand turning gives me something to do... But I'm also less tempted to candle frequently while using the turner since I'm rarely opening the incubator.

I'm curious to see if it affects my hatch rate, since the rest of the conditions will be pretty much the same as my last hatch.
Don't forget to rotate the eggs on the turner. If you have hot spot. I move them every two days (makes me feel active in the hatch).

Question?? I have a broody hen that has been setting for almost a week in the coop. I want to move her to a safe broody spot and put different eggs under her. Will this be okay and safe for her. I took her off a nest last week not knowing she was trying to be broody and moved her to my bigger coop just to find her sitting on eggs a couple days later. I'm pretty sure she will accept a new nest of eggs I just don't want her to be sitting too long and affect her health. Any opinions on this.
