I can’t decide if I Want to move my broody or not. She is young and a couple hens like to lay in the box she is in.

some eggs are dirty I may give her the dirtiest so she rubs them clean and Incubate the others so I have backup.
Candy Corn?

And about not hatching 😂😂😂 I call your bluff and raise you 12 polish in my bator

@Knighstar679 im in the same boat as you. “Ducks ducks ducks NO chickens. Wait... I bought chicken eggs. And some chicks. Along with more duck eggs.” 😂

annnnnd I may have ordered some Mille Fleur Belgian d’uccle and Swedish Hedemora eggs... from the same place the duck eggs came from. I was happy with their packing and shipping speed, etc, so, you know....

I don’t know how I get into this mess.

I had already asked my friend for “4” blue layers eggs. She gave me 8 😳. Then I listed two hens for sale yesterday and a breeder immediately emailed me wanting my BLRW. I admin a local FB group so happened to know he also raises polish, but, doesn’t sell hatching eggs this year with Covid he incubates everything.

seemed like an opportunity I Couldn’t pass up. I said “sorry her price has suddenly Changed to 6 polish eggs. 🤣🤣🤣.

Only now I have 14 eggs that just HAVE to be incubated, and I cleared out two spaces. HA!

here’s a candy corn polish.

@FortCluck do you keep polish? Do you trim their crest ever? I have two polish I brooded that are 10 weeks old now and we’re super nervous to be integrated to the main flock. I’m hoping these will be better since they’ll be raised by a broody.

either way, I’m thinking I want to trim their crests. I know that’s like sacrilege or something.... but... I wanna give them the best hope to make it free ranging.

I'm planning to put the eggs in the incubator tomorrow or Wednesday. We've been saving all our eggs for a week (we only had 25% fertile eggs in the last batch) and eating store bought eggs. Today I'm looking at the number of eggs we have to set, and thinking it is less than it should be. Turns out my 18 year old has been baiting the traps we use to catch raccoons and such with the eggs he gets from the hen house every morning. :barnieSo, where I planned to have 25-30 barnyard mix eggs going, we'll have more like 15-20.

I so want one... Where do I find them?

So I was just coming on here to say. Y'all said throw in all the different breeds eggs. Well your wish is my command... I have Cochin Deathlayers, Polish Deathlayers, Bantam Brahma, Rhode Island Deathlayers, and RSL Deathlayer crosses (I dont know what to call these everything is too inappropriate lol)

:fl:pop Come on little Metal Band... Naming them all after heavy metal or rock... We need to finish Ozzy's band. I want to make a sign for their coop that says "Cluck Off". Our friend says we need a flag that says "We don't give a Cluck"

I think Covid has slightly made me go chicken mental
