June Hatch-A-Long

:gig

...ok, sorry, just going through the thought process I had to go through when I listed my place. And all it's weird stalls, coops, buildings, and whatnot.
No I totally agree. That’s why I asked. I know it matters .... I’m just trying to see how much it matters versus my convenience factor and long term aspect of keeping the geese if that’s what I decide to do. My kid realllllly likes them and we have been talking about it for a while but I still think it’s going to be a transition for him since we spend SO much time at home.

I wonder what kind of mobile thing I could do. 5 geese is just a lot for that. Hmmmm.

Our first baby is out! A light Brahma, my son named “her” June.

my best friend came by while I was out, just before the church hatched, and she texted me “should I open the lid”, so she opened it before I could text back no. 😳 But she did get a cute video, so I guess I’ll forgive her. 😬

it was open less than a minute, and I tried to down play my worry to her. Humidity came right back up to 60%+, and I don’t think any others have pipped yet. 🤞

What about like a playpen/temp holding where the other birds are while there is a showing? Or, goose tractor? I'm not sure...

where will the other animals be for showings? I know tossing kids and dogs in for a car ride works...but chickens, not so much

Our place has been for sale for 48 hours. As prospective buyers and their agents come to the house I greet them and explain that the coops and chickens are temporary as I am not renewing the lease on the farm and moving everything down here temporarily as I buy land. Everyone so far as been very pleasant and understanding and truthfully very interested in visiting with the chickens. Which now that I think on it I am not keen about.

I'm not sure what I did to deserve this but both this hatch and the hatch I did a few days ago decided to hatch in the middle of the night. 10 chicks hatched between midnight and 7am. :thI'm soooo tired! Lol

On a positive note that means all but 2 of the Isabella Leghorns have already hatched and the other two are both pipped. I think all of the Orpingtons are pipped now too but they rolled around so I'll have to open the incubator to double check in a bit.

Sending three giant cups of coffee! ☕☕☕

My hatch spread out over 2 and 1/2 days. I was awake for all but 2 hours of it and was a zombie for days afterwords.
