Not a good time to order chicks. I would avoid it at all cost. With everything that is going on, it’s not worth it. Ohio has had a bad time with shipping because my eggs took two extra days to get here... with knowing that there’s no way I’d do chicks.
Patience is a learned behavior. The only way to get it is by experiencing frustrations and trials. People say, "I'm praying for patience." Then the stock answer is, "No, don't do that!" But it doesn't make any difference. Everyone gets the opportunity again and again to develop patience.Patience is not something I was wired with![]()
Yeah, they grow so fast!
You can give them as long as you like (unless they start to smell bad). I would probably go another two, maybe three days. Late hatchers do not (statistically) tend to thrive, but there are always exceptions, and I always feel like they deserve a chance.Well, I need to decide what to do with the remaining two eggs. I candled all 3 that were left, one had internally pipped and drowned, so I opened it up. It was half ayam cemani, and the only one in my batch of that mix, so pretty sad about that one. That leaves me with two eggs. Neither have internally pipped, but I don’t see movement in either. How long should I give them? Hatch day was yesterday.
