June Hatch a Long

I have a question for anyone who owns a GQF genesis with the digital display.
Is it NORMAL for the temp/humidity display to get condensation in it during the hatch? I couldn't even read it because there were so many water droplets in there. The display window was almost clear of condensation though.

Just set 24 more Ameraucana eggs, and 8 Pekin and Khaki Campbell duck eggs in my incubator, hoping this one turns out well too. I put 4 other duck eggs and 2 Ameraucana eggs under my broody silkie a few days ago, and she has been sitting very good.I am going to candle alot less on this batch, plus with the turner I won't have to bother them much at all.

Well its day 22 and I still have 12 eggs in the bator that aren't doing anything. The 25 chicks that did hatch are in the brooder and doing great. I'm kinda bummed though because none of my mother in law's eggs hatched, I really like her rooster and wanted some pretty chicks out of him.

I finally pulled the plug last night, Day 23, on the last 3 eggs. Eggtopsies show fully formed chicks, fairly moist inner membranes, but maybe too much fluid? I'm completely confused by how I have apparent drownings with 19-20% humidity pre-lockdown and 65% post. Are you going to open any of your MIL's eggs to see what may have gone wrong?

What was the humidity in the room the eggs were incubated in? This plays a big part in this as well. Sounds like you might want to run a dehumidifier in the room or run the A/C to lower the room humidity.

I would almost wait until day 25 if there was a fully formed chick inside the first one you opened. Sometimes nature's timeline just doesn't align with ours. Several of my chicks on the last set hatched at day 24.

I actually have one bator off and clean! The eggs in the other are all due the same day. I doubt I fire these up again. Next eggs I set will be in the new cabinet. My neighbor offered me jungle fowl eggs to do hatch runs with my new cabinet. If chicks hatch he will take them. If not he will keep supplying me with eggs!
[/quote. Plenty of those down here they are hardy lil birds but not very productive I have been told from the locals that the hens can lay eggs from the trees , they bounce off the rainforest floor and still hatch you need to start breeding that into your bunts so them shipped eggs can survive the USPS lol

. No I just started using the 1588 digital this year I had such good hatches with my older wafer 1588 I bought the digi to replace my older one ( was stll working great ) I had been using for about two years I have only hatched in it one time and had no condensate problems with the display it's use is primarily as a incubator and I think I have over 90 successful hatchlings produced since the end of April so I'm happy with it so far it is very consistent and seems to adjust itself to changes in room temp and humidity well some one else who has done more hatching and less incubating may chime in
