June Hatch a Long

Wensday is LD for my guinea/solo duck and farm eggs. Check coop again tonight and down to 3 pearl grays in coop. So ideally 3 hens sitting. Guineas all year I guess. I know where 1 nest is at least.
Finished broody guinea eggs think with 15 live keets. Rest were late quictters with 1/2 dz clears. Thats 37 guinea keets for this month. And no losses after I pulled em from bator. 1 does have an injury I caught so I moved back with younger keets give him/her better chance.

Not exspecting anything from the lone duck egg. Kinda looks like went bad a couple days ago but only wait til saturday so gonna let it cook and see. Rouen ALMOST sat tonight. For a few minutes but then went to coop. Waiting a day or 2 see if she'll get serious. If not another bator meal.

Split keets/chicks in garage. Keets were pecking chicks beak where they connect to face on chicks and making them bloody. Maybe it was cuz keets are orange beak and chicks different. IDK but split em to be safe. Otherwise everything doing fine, as far as I can tell.

My babies wont eat or drink

One hatched the day before yesterday and one hatched at 3am on Monday morning. The 3am chick I finally got to eat, but the one born Sunday at 7pm still isnt eating. I think he might be blind in one eye too, its eye is foggy looking but the other one is nice and dark. It sleeps constantly, I know thats normal for chicks, but this one does not get up and move around.

cute babies are everywhere..... i love it..... congrats to all of you with new babies. my 28 American Game eggs go into lockdown tomorrow and i am super excited. i will keep yall updated as to my progress as things start happening but so far 28 out of 39 eggs that made it past day 7 are looking wonderful. i do have a question tho.... last time i candled i noticed some of these eggs are more full than others like some of the chicks are bigger or more developed. what would cause this????

It is called failure to thrive. Sometimes there is just nothing we can do. Sugar water or honey water could perk it up. I always keep sav a chic and give it to any chick who might need a pick me up

Hi all!! Need a little advice. I had two eggs in the bator that I took from under a broody to put some other eggs under her that were about a week ahead of these two. One of them hatched on Sunday night, the other was rockin' pretty well all day yesterday but now is pretty quiet. I am assuming that this is day 23 based on when I THINK the broody started sitting on them. No internal pip, no chirp, but still a little movement.

Should I go ahead and do a pip and try to see what going on or leave it another day? I have lost several in this hatch period because I think I moved too quickly and air dried them. This is my first hatch. I have read the Hatch Assist article several times but I am still kind of unclear as to when to make a move. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Well, it looks like June will also be a bust for me, unless by some miracle the 4 hours spike to 114 didn't kill all of them. My bantam hatch for today is down to 2 eggs (out of 12) and no sign of pipping at all. Today is day 21, since they are bantams I assumed they would pip around day 18 or 19. I'll leave those two in for a day or two just in case.

On a happier note, I finally broke down and ordered a Hovabator Genesis for delivery hopefully this week. More eggs also coming (thru ebay and shipped unfortunately), so perhaps that will help me have a happy July hatch. It will be nice to not have to worry so much about them.

Congrats to all of the June hatches. it's been BUSY around here. Hard to keep track of y'all!

Awwwww I am so sorry. I sure know the feeling. I have had 2 zeros and 2 with only 1 hatched.
