My last hatch my chicks started cracking their shells and chirping around day 17 and all were out by the night of the 18th going into day 19.
I was told because my temp kept running high it shortened the hatch span?
I don't know.
All the ones that hatched were healthy. I cracked open the ones that didn't hatch and they were all duds or really early quitters.
So it's possible....

I THINK my bator has been 99.5 the whole time but I have been trying to completely ignore the eggs (I'm doing dry incubation this time), except on candling days. So it sure could have fluctuated when I wasn't checking. I guess I'll be finding out soon

I keep looking at the eggs and hoping to see something move or hear something. Lockdown is 7am tomorrow morning. I think I had 1 or 2 days where my temp was up to 37.6 but for most of the time it has been a steady 37.5. I did have water in incubator for 1st week but we have high humidity and the incubator has not gone below 36% but is fluctuating between 36% and 44%. I just hope I get some to hatch but since they are shipped eggs, I am telling myself no more than 50% hatch rate and if I get better then it is a bonus.

I only have cardboard cartons not the styrofoam isn't that a fire hazard?

If you cut the cartons down you shouldn't need to worry about fire.

Best of luck to you too! My humidity with no water has been between 35-45% the whole time. I've only hatched shipped eggs until now so hopefully you will have a wonderful hatch!!!

Thanks, you too. I am so excited as I am sure you are too. I keep going to the incubator to check if I can see movement,

my DH thinks I am completely daft. Shh, don't tell him he is quite correct.

Oh wow!!!  A HUGE CONGRATS to everyone!!!  What beautiful little babies!!! OMG I am going crazy waiting over here!  Tomorrow is day 18 for me and everything is going by SO slowly!!!  At least I have all of your beautiful little ones to watch until then
