June Hatch a Long

I found more new eggs under them. They are still stealing eggs. Lol. Guess they want to raise a football team of chicks.
I put food and water next to them since they are still sitting on a few more eggs left to hatch.

Question. Do I need to put mommas and babies in a separate coop since they have chicks or will they be fine with the whole flock.

Could you post the link again? I never saw it! :(

Here you go :) https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/incubation-cheat-sheet

Although I did not have to do all of that to raise the humidity at the end. Paper towel added brought me up to 90+%. I took them out and am at 70%. It just depends on where you live and time of year :)

The 2 dark ones are the ones that hatched for me. It was touch and go for a little while, but now they are doing great!

Reurra, they are adorable! Glad they made it! My hatch is officially over. Interestingly, the two eggs that did not hatch were the smallest and the largest, which underscores what I have read that "normal" eggs (size, texture, shape) hatch at a higher rate. After another motionless candle, I did an eggtopsy. The small egg looked perfectly normal. No idea why it died. The large egg had a lot of clear, sterile-looking fluid in it, and the chick was small for the amount of space it had. Air cell was normal in size, and no internal pip. The chick had a marked underbite, which makes me think it probably had other abnormalities that prevented it from hatching. So, I got 7 chicks from 9 eggs, and I am pretty darn thrilled :)

Hey thats a great hatch rate! I had 4 infertile, 4 quits around day 16, 2 quits on the last day and 2 hatched. so 2 out of 12 is a horrible rate, but Im really glad the 2 I have made it.

My last hatch had 2 that died in the egg from too much of the clear fluid. Its called albumin. They drowned in it I think. The one that did hatch from the oversized egg was one that pipped the wrong end and i accidentally dropped it when iw as trying to get it out of the incubator. I think thats the only reason it survived because then the excess fluid drained off and he was able to breath.

I love your pics ceocka!!! Those are awesome!

I ended up with 2 chicks hatching wirh assistance. One is really small compared to the other. If I hadn't helped, they would have been shrink wrapped for sure. Both have membrane stuck to them! One has it stuck to her eye. Hope this won't cause problems for her!! (I say her but don't know for sure).

You can get her out and use a wet qtip or a wet cottonball and get the membrane off.
