June Hatch a Long

On a sad note, I'm down to 2 of 6 of the local eggs that got cracked by my broody hens. On a GOOD note, 14/18 shipped eggs are developing as of day 6!! Also here's one of my duck eggs (the ones on Day 13 today) I candled last night! Hoping to see it out of the shell in 2 weeks :)
. Too cool ! I can barely figure out how to post pics a video is way over my head lol nice

good numbers on shipped eggs so far. Mine are ugh sigh grrrr and more so. i keeping em cooking but they are prolly lost causes. But the way my hatches have been I better wait to toss anything.
I have rouen eggs in with guineas which are both doing good due in 3 weeks. Glad i am not the only person on the thread mixen poultry (If there are others sry my minds all screwy around hatch day).

every one needs a good lick every now and again lol

So are you saying to put the bator eggs under her instead of locking them down in the bator so they imprint? The two under her now are about a week behind the ones in the bator. Also, do you have that link to the progression pics?
. The air cell progession ? If so I put it up for Dofi last night in the may thread polak jump over there and cut and copy it ,, I would swap them eggs out move the ones ready to go under the broody and pop the others in the bator that way the chicks will imprint to your hen at hatch and all will be flawless she will most likely try to finish her clutch if you leave them under her but a week to ten days in my experience is asking allot of her as the chickies at 7 days are a handful an she will start to spend more time teaching them the rules of the road spending more time off the nest at 7 days I hatched under Broodys for many years before I started incubating and the more you work with the girls in your flock you will be able to select the best girls at doing the job for you as Alaskan had said in the other post some have it and some don't I have two out of 41 hens here that are exceptional brooders they will lay large clutches and will stay on till it finished and move on to brooding the chicks then I have a few that luv to set and not very good at brooding chicks my wife has a lil Banty x that cant hatch a egg to save her life but will steal chicks from other hens and raise them to no end so as you move forward you will find the girls in your flock that you will allow to brood and some who want to but should not be allowd to hence the broody buster pen I would pull the old swicharoo if I was in your spot and see how it flys

Well
.I am going to make myself crazy again..
Set the eggs, guessing they were about 18 days.................but really think I went over on the days.
Had a pip last night so upped the humidity,. went to 70.
No progress on the pip this morning..............
Read the thread on float testing and floated 12 of the eggs.. Had knots in my stomach. have not done this before.
A few of them did a great water dance.so know they are alive...........at least some..............
Got to find something to do..................nose going flat from having it plastered on the window....................
