Well the work day is almost at a close and lock down looms around 9:30 tonight so it's off to the mountain to do a little hatching,,, any one else locking down tonight or early am ?? Need a hatchin Buddy

Ending day 19 here. I took one last peek into a couple eggs and I have internal pips!!! Maybe I'll have babies a day early. I have to work all day though- I don't know if I can stand it!

I was out running the child to her various activities and had to catch up! Plus, I totally just figured out the "multi quotes"

. I have 6 hatched, one left in the incubator pipped, and one died. I think the chicks got a little too rough with it, it looked like it tried to reposition, and drowned... Pics coming soon!

Just put in some Lavender Orpingtons!!!

Extreme fear or anxiety worry caused by wet chicks. Can be terminal in some cases.

We have 15 eggs going into lockdown this afternoon. Cochins and Amerecauna/EE's. Good luck everyone!
Never knew that about the temp spike at day 3 - silly me never thought about the chicks generating their own heat as they develop - and I've experienced it enough with my own kids as they developed...
