June Hatch a Long

Other two in bator are good and I just looked and two out of four under the broody are out. She's doing better than me so far and this is her first hatch!

Pics of new babies please. So happy for you for the 2 that hatched successfully and well done broody! Wish I had a broody, would be so much better for the nerves.

Aww- sorry. Sometimes things just happen - they have a big job to do and sometimes it goes wrong. It may have been a problem inside the egg too, and happened regardless - like tearing the yolk sac before it's been absorbed. Sorry though. I hope the other one is doing well.
I didn't think about the yolk rupturing -the goo was yellowish colored. Next hatch I'm getting my doctor to give me some Xanax...LOL

Essential item for hatching.

Here ya go! I don't dare risk life or limb to get a pic of the ones under the broody. She has one black & one yellow chick.
Aww they are gorgeous, enjoy them.

well I am back from camping here is an update:

today is day 8 I candled the eggs in my bators..... the batch of mixed eggs I had going all got tossed. seems most were infertile and others tried to start veining and quit. I think maybe the eggs I got from my mom were just old. so that's 27 eggs gone.

I had 39 game eggs set and tossed 2 on day 3 and when I candled this morning I tossed 8 more for infertility. that brings me down to 29 game eggs developing quite nicely. temps and humidity doing good. I will candle again next weekend to make sure everything is still going good.

I see we have lots of little fuzzy butts since I have been gone and just wanted to say CONGRATS!

Sorry to hear about your loss....but these fellows/ladies look great! We have some under a broody right now too and my DH said to just let nature takes it course, that is how they did it when he was a kid. We know she has hatched eggs before but never with us so it is our first time. Incubator is due to come alive sometime this evening or tomorrow. Fuzzy butts are all around.
