June Hatch a Long

9 as of last night, 15 this morning, 3 are still very wet and new atleast 5 more are pipped right now with 2 starting to unzip... i even have an andalusion cross chick unzipping... very cool, didnt even expect that egg to be fertile, now it could be a cochin cross or an ameraucauna cross... the toes will tell

Candled the remaining choc/mauve ams last night before lockdown... 6 doing good.

One of my broodies has been sitting quite a while with no action so I decided to candle her eggs. Sure enough, nothing going in 3 of the 5 and the other 2 are iffy. So i put 5 of the choc ams under her to see if she can get a better hatch than my bator! Come on momma!!

When I candled my eggs yesterday (day 17, couldn't wait), I realized that one has a detatched air sac. I can't see into the egg (dark green) well enough to see whether there is movement.

Should I put it in a cut out egg carton cup to hatch or lay it down? I seriously doubt it is good, but I don't want to kill a potential chick?

Not looking very good for the others. At 17 days, the eggs aren't nearly as dark inside as I expected. 1st hatch, though, so I don't really know what I'm looking at. I only have other people's pictures to go by.

Lock down at 18 days (today)? right?

We've already started a July group!!! Where ya been??? Lol!!! Us true addicts are already there... Intervention??? Nah!

ain't that the truth.....lol. my June eggs haven't even hatched yet and I am already getting eggs ready to set soon as my bator is empty. lol. I am protesting intervention as well. I get better hatch rates during the spring and summer so I will keep on doing what I do.....hehe. soon as I get my next batch set I will join you all in the july group lol

update on my eggs... today is day 20 for me and all my rocking and rolling yesterday has slowed down so I am thinking they have all gotten in the position they want. so far no external pips but I am hoping for some by the end of the day. keeping my fingers crossed. temp is a steady 99.5 and humidity is running between 50-60%. and considering I set my eggs in the afternoon on the 1st of June I am expecting them to hatch tomorrow afternoon or night. we will see.

I hope it's not to late to join! I have 28 eggs and they are on day 15. I started with 30 and just had to toss 2 last night. The rest seem to be rocking and rolling! I also have another egg collection going so that I will have more to set when these little ones hatch! I am crazy excited as this is the first time I have tried to hatch any of my own eggs
