June Hatch-A-Long

As of 5:01pm on Day 22 (June 11th) I am calling this hatch an EPIC fail.

Sooo sad.

For those who wondering I don't "assist" hatch if they haven't pipped at all.....

I feel your pain. I am also on day 22 and I checked several of my eggs earlier, most of them had stopped developing early on , but a few looked liked they should have hatched, but died before they could. I did get 2 little chicks form this batch, but one died. I think I am going to call the other on "Survivor", just because it was the only one that did. Sorry for your loss and disappointment.

sending hugs your way.

Aww. I'm sorry. Makes me afraid because with my brinsea I get perfect hatches. Every once in awhile I will have one egg out of a batch not hatch, but I've got 26 eggs in a food dehydrator this go round to try it out. Temps and humidity are good but now I'm afraid nothing will hatch. Scary. If 5 his hatch doesn't go great then I'll just stick with my brinsea

Getting ready to go into lockdown in a few hours. Getting ready to do my final candling...well, I was going to do it an hour ago but my husband just burnt his hand badly! He is doing better now though.

I just recandled some.
I could see the neck and the head are where the air sack would be so i guess they made it to internal pips but non have hatched. I candled for a few a few more seconds each and nothing was moving.

Poor babies. I don't know what killed them. perhaps the humidity spike from 30's to the 60's? I did an unintended dry hatch because i forgot to add water through out the process.

the temperature through out the hatch was between 99-102 with one day getting 104.

but they were still moving after it was 104. My dad was saying take them back to the farm. I'm going to call tomorrow to see what I can do about it. Cause i did pay $14 for fertizled eggs and i think they have a policy where if non hatch they will give me another batch to do. So if i do I'll be in the July hatch a long. I'm just sooooo

Lockdown was last night. Tonight when I got home from work, I checked and already have one pip! I've never had one this early, day 20 before but not 19.... so, I'll check again in the morning for progress. I hate having to go to work and leave them all alone in a box with no one to hover over them..

If things go well, in the morning there will be a few more, but they'll all wait for me to get back home... hahahaha... :plbb
