JUNE - JULY HATCH-ALONG!!!!!!!

Pics
5 out of 6 turkey eggs all started pipping between yesterday and this morning. I was starting to get worried but I'm finally seeing some progress!

A new link for you guys to my live-feed https://www.pscp.tv/w/1YqGojjQYNbKv . I have two eggs pipped aside from the one I helped last night. That chick still has some blood to absorb, so other than making sure the membranes don't dry on it I've been leaving it alone.
Awwww, love your little ayam cemani! Congratulations!!!:celebrate

I'm sooo sorry! :hugsI know it's not the happy ending you were hoping for but that's an incredible number of eggs that are still viable! I hope you have many more happy healthy babies hatch! I'm so looking forward to seeing pictures of that many babies!
Several were internally pipped yesterday, but I didn’t mark them. Unfortunately, I’ve had none externally pip. I’m afraid that our transfer was quite traumatic, taking them from their sides to egg cartons, cooling them as we were candling 120+ eggs, putting them in a new position... My DD and I don’t have a very good feeling about how these eggs will do...

I think you may be pleasantly surprised! Think of all of tumbling around the other eggs do after the first chick hatches and starts kicking, lol. :fl

Speaking of rolling around, the excitement in my incubators just got a little crazy! I was taking pictures of the first turkey hatching and I could hear little peeps from inside an egg, shouldn't be surprising but it wasn't coming from the other turkey eggs! The peeps were coming from my other incubator where the chicks are still in the turner! The chick that was developing before I set it was clearly farther along than I had realized because there was an external pip and it was just peeping along as it rolled in the incubator turner!
I acted probably without thinking much and I snagged that egg out of the turner and put it in with the turkeys and peacocks in one of the lockdown incubators. It would have made more sense if I had put it in the incubator with the quail since they aren't pipped yet but it's done now so fingers crossed! :fl

Eeeeeeeee! Good, quick thinking.

I think it’s better with the turkeys! They’re both externally pipped right? I love that you have so many incubators running you can just toss it in with the right timeline group. :lau:fl:caf

LOL! :lau I have 4 incubators running and yes the little Olive egger is externally pipped and so are most of the turkeys. The Peacocks I don't expect to start pipping until tomorrow at the earliest but she said 28-30 days so they may have a much longer wait yet. I guess I should have warmed up the 5th incubator. :gig
