JUNE - JULY HATCH-ALONG!!!!!!!

Pics
Im so happy!!!!! So, hatch day under the broody is tomorrow, and we already have a pair of CCLBs, another CCLB is piping, and one LO is pipping, another CCLB was dis, it looks like momma "crushed" it. But you win some and you lose some, but overall (so far) im very content!

Congrats! Glad your hatch is going well!

We’re on lockdown for the chickens, and the muscovies but it’s a bit early for the muscovies. I was going to move them to a different incubator but they look close to internal pipping so I kept them in there. Not to mention I already have pips on my chicken eggs so I closed the incubator ASAP.
The Wyandotte’s are chirping like crazy. It sounds so clear too, like they’re not even in eggs.
I think I’m gonna put the quail into lockdown tonight as well. It’s a bit early but I’ve noticed that I get pips as early as 3 days before hatch so I want to move them before they externally pip.
Hope your hatch is going well!!!:fl

Have any of y'all ever added a few eggs to eggs under a broody hen?

My hen has been setting for almost 5 days now and I got my hands on 2 Maran eggs today so I put them under her, but now I'm worried she will leave them when the others hatch. :idunno
We’ve had several people in this hatchalong that, for one reason or another had a staggered hatch. That seems to cause a lot of grief as mom doesn’t stay with the younger eggs long enough to hatch them...

You're probably fine leaving them under her for right now but I would definitely crank up an incubator to finish the hatch in. Even if your broody is willing to sit in the nest a bit longer you don't really want her staying in the nest longer than a few days so she gets up to start tending to the already hatched chicks.
