Hello! My family decided to incubate chicken eggs this year and since we have a small flock already, we decided to just do a dozen. This is our first time. We candled on day 8, day 15, and before lockdown on day 18. We didn't really know what we were looking at, but 11 out of 12 looked pretty healthy compared to pictures. We had an automatic egg turner and kept the temperature at about 37-38 degrees Celcius and until the eighteenth day the humidity at 45%. Then we changed it to about 65% but it's staying around 63%. On day nineteen, we had one egg pip and it hatched the next morning. Then at about noon, another egg pipped and hatched later that night. Today is day 21 and both chicks were dry so we put them in the brooder set at 95-98 degrees Fahrenheit. They are doing great, but there is no other activity among the other 10. We candled a few days ago and all looked well, but after those two, there is no sign of life. None smell bad and if you listen really really closely I think there is a little chirping. (It's hard to tell with the little peepers in the background!) But, there has been no more pipping. Is this normal? How many days should we wait before giving up? Just wondering!
