First time I heard about them was from this video

I kinda want to travel there to see all those peafowl.

This is very sad but i can see why some folks would be upset with them being around.

Many folks live in a material world, to them life is all about nice things and possessions and they do not take kindly to having something mess it up,

Folks can eventually get use to the noise just like any other noise you hear it long enough it becomes a part of life but you throw in something that can do damage to their possessions the noise will always be heard.

Some of you may not agree but IMO peafowl do not belong in neighborhoods, they are bossy, not much bothers them when they get use to it, they are persistent and if folks harass them i could see them getting their tail feathers up in a dander and causing problems just like i see them do with my Chicken hens, heck i have seen them stalk my wiener dog and he lives inside only comes out supervised.

As beautiful as they are and as much as i love them i would never want any i did not raise to come here, no more than i want someones dog, cat ,horse, cow or any other thing i could not deal with without getting into trouble because they were causing problems and were protected but not restrained.

They can be trained but every year the new ones will have to be trained, it takes time and it takes all involved to do so and in this case sounds like there are some folks aren't on board with that and honestly i can't say i blame them.

The best thing they could do is reduce the numbers drastically and keep them in check and see how that works out.

These kinda things rarely have a happy ending when folks are at odds, just like some folks love wildlife others don't, the folks that like them feed them and they sometimes become a nuisance to the neighbor. it is sad that they most likely be caught and caged for the first time i their life because there are just to many , if the numbers were kept in check instead of getting over 100 there would be way less to complain about.

People grow up, people grow old all of us pass sooner or later and someone ends up with our property and that means homes, just like out here, it has always been pretty quite, but now i have lost 5 older neighbors and their family has inherited these places, now i hear loud music in the distance, loud mud makers and 4 wheelers but i am ok as long as they don't come here, perhaps some of these folks feel the same way.
Just because things were like something for 100 years does not always mean it will be times are changing.

Plus some folks don't take kindly to having their nice automobiles scratched up and i assure you it only takes one with some sand on it's Feet to do a fine job at that, bet if it was someone's cat and they got photos something would be done to put a stop to it.

I certainly believe they could have. But...the whole idea of an angry person of unknown intelligence/conscience trying to kill things with any kind of gun or poison is scary though. If the poison is placed carelessly, it could harm not just pets...but even little kids who sometimes try eating things they see an animal eat. If I lived in that neighborhood, I'd be up in arms if unknown people were taking such actions...even if I hated the peas.
