just candled our eggs!

this is our second attempt at hatching. last time we had 4/12 viable at day 16 and the cat knocked the incubator off the table and smashed the eggs

. this time we set 18...12 bantam cochins ( pekins to us in UK ) and 6 different large fowl. we just candled for the first time at day 9. 12/12 of the pekins are fertile and 4/6 of the others. so....really hoping that at least some of these will hatch.

Hi Sarah, good luck with the hatch. I have 6 light sussex at day 11, 6 silkies at day 2 and will be adding another 6 silkies today.
Where abouts in uk are you, i'm in uk too.

one of the other fertile eggs is a white silkie. i hope yours go well also...
