I too get my names from them.. their personalities play a major role in what their names will be.. so they don't get names till their over a month old. I am however having a problem with my twins.. wht leghorns are identical. they walk the same they act the same.. so I call them both twin....

so far the best name Ive read has been Princess Laya tooo funny... I love theme names too... you can also tell what movie was a favrotie at the time of naming... Im still waiting on my Riddic Rooster.. hes gonna have to be one big roo.. to earn that name.. hahah

blessed be )O(

I named all 80 of mine! And when I remember all the names,my moms like: "What?"

I get my names from books..movies..random stuff or even just their personality or size. Like Pip,his full name is Pip Squeak because he was tiny but I shortened it. I only call him his real name when he tries fighting with big ameraucana roosters through the fence! Theres..Eragon,Murtagh,Aryia(I think thats how you spell it XD) Thalia,Percy and Athena, the book/movie characters. Others..like the Tickle Chicken,Bead,Brodda and Toenail..thank my sister!

Out of our 39, we have named only 12. I go by whatever trait they show that reminds me of anything and my kids go with whatever they come up with for no reason at all.

So far we have:
4 BR's named Amelia, Edma, Evie, and Tin Lizzy
2 Production reds named Easter and Crybaby
2 OEGB named Marco Polo and Asparagus
2 silver sebrights named Maybelle and Roxy
1 golden sebright Peanut
& Red our RIR roo
I'm not sure who else will gain a name, but am currently trying to dissuade my DD from naming an araucana Sticky Note. Really don't know where she came up with that one.

I don't name mine until they lay, and even than only if they look different.

Only about 6 out of 30 ducks and chickens have names.

ETA: Maybe more than 6, there names are:
Princess, Violet, Opal, Sparkles, Road Runner, Pansy, Daisy, and Snowflakes. and the ducks are: Sapphire, Gertrude, and Quacker.

I name all my chickens because they are my pets, eggs are a bonus.

My chickens are: Dinero, Barroca, Perch, and Raven are the "Junior High" class. Dark Vader, Precious, Lulu, Red, Lovey, Dovey, and Davida are the "Middle School" class. Hersheys, Blare, Reba, and three other unnamed chicks are the "Kindergarden" class

Well there is NOT much to fess up to all of my chickens are named Just look at my signiture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! haha my dad says they are just dumb chickens! ha what does he know!!!

I have 20 - all named - my son thinks I'm nuts - but I think chickens are very entertaining, so they deserve "special" names - Blanca, Juanita, Margarita, Patsy, Stella, Dolly, Victoria, Angelina, Olivia, Georgina, Beatrice, Camilla, Charlotte, Caroline, Francine, Dorothy, Betsy, Sassy, Scarlet, and Lulu. - It's fun.
