Just delt with a cyber-attack!

My son used my computer to access "unlock codes" for his Playstation and a few minutes later, I walk by and notice a porn-site up on my computer, internet explorer is running ( I always use Mozilla), Windows is telling me that 34 viruses have been downloaded, and to click here to fix the problem (not gonna fall for that), AVG (anti-virus program) will not operate, I can't start 'system restore' internet explorer keeps starting up by itself, so I pull the plug.

I restarted my 'puter in DOS and was able to get back to 'system restore' and back date to last Saturday. Then I called my bank and canceled internet banking until I can set it up again with new password, username , etc. I think it worked. Avg is scanning away right now. That was stressful!

Been there, my cousin was on Myspace just the other day and next thing I know firefox closes and here comes AVG showing about 20 viruses I had gotten from a pop-up caused by Myspace. Luckily they were all caught quickly and deleted.

my laptop went down the other day 10 minutes after my sons girlfriend used it to check her email. I tried to restore to a few days back and it didnt work. Off to the computer guy it went. Geesh, I thought people knew enough not to open strange emails these days. I hope you get yours cleaned out good.
