So I know that this may not be ideal however I have a friend with her falconry license. Any chicks or chickens or quail that die go to her to feed her hawks. I have had to do this with a few roosters as well because no one would take them. It was hard for me but the circle of life happens. I also help her with food by setting out live traps and always get opossums for her. With the birds she uses a CO2 tank but for the opossums we use the drowning method. Plus I don’t want them eating my chickens or quail that I selectively choose to keep.
What I meant to also say is you can reach out to a bird sanctuary or find falconry groups and if it has to come down to it then they will get food. Roosters are not allowed in my neighborhood/county so I can’t have roosters at all. I do keep one or 2 until they fertilize some eggs and then I rehome them or if I can’t find a home they go to my friends hawk and our bird sanctuary to feed their birds.

15 weeks old. Still skittish and pretty much feral lol

Well, today I had a smaller different colored egg- extremely light cream(smallest in the middle front) I'm wondering if it belongs to our little white girl... 16 weeks old tomorrow. We did have an Australorp last year start laying at 16weeks, maybe she's a Wyandottes/Australorp cross instead of Wyandotte/Orpington? I dunno! Just for fun!

Poor cockerel is in timeout lol

Could be!
Some do come into lay at that age.

LOL Poor Cockerel. Nah, sometimes they do need a time out and the girls need a break. Hormones are raging at that age 😂
Oh, it's sort of hilarious, he tried mounting and our hens(one year olds) would chase him, like 'nope! Not today!' They did not take kindly to his behavior. And they started watching out for each other and would charge him if he got too close. But he is only just now 16weeks, crowing, but does none of the provider actions-clucking for food, talking to the girls, calling out danger(if there is any) whichnyes I know he's still growing and learning and has a few months, but I think we'll take him to the auction come end of April.

18 weeks!

I haven't seen either girl actually be in a nest, but last week we did get a small light tan colored egg, assuming from the Wyandotte girl (snow white color, she's like blindingly white lol)
